Andaman Islands – Popper Fishing – World Sport Fishing

The Andaman Islands form a breathtakingly beautiful and relatively untouched archipelago located in the Andaman Sea in the Bay of Bengal. Only 36 out of the 572 islands are inhabited, leaving 86% of the land mass in a protected forest cover. Tropical rain forests abound in rare and endemic species of flora and fauna. Without commercial high coral reef is almost untouched, which gives the fish a chance to grow to colossal sizes.

Huge masses of water drawn through the islands of the tide each day giving the smaller fish with an abundance of food that gives predators plenty to eat and grow. The islands have large mangroves forests, which provide excellent nursing basis for juveniles.

With so many reef systems undetected’ll probably hook in to some real monsters. Be prepared for a fishing adventure that will surely put you and your gear to the ultimate test.

Mike grew up in Oman and has over 17 years experience fishing tropical waters. Spending his teenage years game fishing for big tuna and dorado, he has developed a sixth sense in fish location and will put you in the best possible areas.

He came to the Andaman for the first time in 2008, here he was in love with the pure beauty of the islands and the fantastic fishing. Start’s career fishing Andaman is on the local boats without sonar or GPS he was expert at finding the fish. Now we up graded to a speed boat, so we are able to reach the far away coral reefs that are beyond the reach of most of the local fishing boats.

Mike’s Fishing Adventures is based on Havelock Island in the Andaman Islands, where the pristine waters surrounding us keep record fish.

Our routes ranging from half day trips, day trips, several day packages and bespoke exploration excursions. Itineraries can include full-day fishing trips broken up with snorkeling or a jungle trek in dense forests. Exploring the islands with near virgin reef systems ideal for popping or deep water reefs where jigging can be out of this world.

David began fishing canals and ponds to Murrel and carp in his formative years in boarding school. He was encouraged in his efforts by a teacher or two who quickly realized the benefits of freshly caught fish on the table. He graduated soon spinning the golden masheer during the summer holidays in the lower ranges of the Teesta originates in North Sikkim.

While posted in Chennai, he was an avid surf casting anglers, but soon began venturing offshore on local fishing boats. A 2009 visit Andamans endend in him moving to Andamans.

This much can be said – no two tours are the same, and the big surprises is what makes each trip so unique and worth.
